Use Case

In some environments, developers cannot download or upgrade software in their working environments where they develop Puppet modules. As such, they are constantly several PDK versions behind the current version. The ask is, is there a way to allow/enable the PDK to auto-update itself?

VSCode being able to auto-update itself and its plugins was an example of what they’d like to see.

Describe Alternatives You've Considered

Using Puppet to manage the PDK was discussed, but the environment uses temporary contractors, sometimes VDI systems, and other complicating factors (and politics).
