Since today I have the issue that the taskbar is getting fully transparent when hovering an running app on it.
I use translucent mode.

I haven't encountered this myself, are you using the translucent theme or is this your own custom theme? Does the taskbar return to normal when you stop hovering? What other windhawk mods are you using? Any other taskbar mods not related to windhawk? Are you also using UWPspy at the same time? Are you using multiple monitors? Do you have transparency effects turn on or off in windows? (in the settings app)

Just trying to think of everything that could possibly cause issues, let me know!

Thank you bbmaster123 for your quick answer.
I'm using the translucent theme. I tweaked it to be darker. And I'm using different other mods.
Now I switched back to the origin translucent theme and disabled all other mods. But the issue still persists.
After hovering over an open app in the taskbar the taskbar is getting clear instead of acryl style. It does not revert back until I deactivate the mod and activate it again.
Thank you for your help.
I had this issue with the dev channel version of windows. Then I revertet back to the preview channel and the problem disapeared. I think the problem appeared again after a windows update, but I'm not shure.

Maybe this is the problem: "[Taskbar] New! This update improves the previews that show when your cursor hovers over apps on the taskbar. The update also improves their animations."

After the new windows update, I have noticed that when you hover over an app on the taskbar, it now has a smoother animation and apparently it uses the same background color of my taskbar now, it didn't do this yesterday

@braunie143 that's very possible, like both you, and the link mention, that's a preview build which isn't technically supported by windhawk. You're very likely correct that they changed something

Seeing as it does this with the built in themes as well I have 4 suggestions, no order of preference, its up to you:

  1. revert to stable build
  2. uninstall KB update
  3. wait for stable build to catch up or pass this preview build
  4. disable the feature flag in vivetool

using vivetool is generally not recommended, but if you're confident feel free to go that route. See here for instructions if you choose, I wrote a step by step guide a few months ago. FYI since I don't have that build yet, you would need to use the feature scanner to find the name of the feature yourself, also in the guide

Feel free to poke me if you need help with any of that, cheers :)

So this is a change that is coming now. I now left the insider preview channel, but I have to wait until I'm back in the stable release channel.

Btw.: the mod "Disable Taskbar Thumbnails" is not working anymore on this build (26100.3037).
