some homebrew content has a background with the same paper texture, but slightly whiter than the default brownish background... i was wondering where i could change this (in what file or class) since i'm not very familiar with LaTeX.

I closed the PR #327 for the reason given there, but I wanted to pull the alternative to this open discussion as a prompt for how to implement this necessary functionality.
What we probably need more is an easy hook to set the default background through the class options. Something along the lines of \DndSetOptions(bg=my/image/path). Providing another default image doesn't really work because it will invariably not be what other people want to use.
