@pwin I think merging this documentation back into the main gist repository will help us keep it in lock-step with major releases. This entails a commitment that it will keep pace, however. What do you think?

Jamie:

  • Automation - website link, Widoco doc update
  • The reason we moved it to another repo was not to bloat the gistCore repo
  • The readme in the main gist repo does have a link to the gist-doc repo, and this goes into the release package

PROPOSAL

  • Keep in separate repo
  • Store source files (content) for e-book in gist-doc so other people can edit

Jamie will work on automating generation of Widoco doc for 13.0.0.

Colton: we can zip up the eBook and add it to the gistCore release on GitHub (not in the package). Just add the file manually to the release.

Rebecca:

  • Add Colton's suggestion to the release process documentation.

Peter:

  • Script to automate Widoco doc generation already exists.
  • Widoco doesn't generate a viewable web page. It doesn't - you need a web server to serve it. GitHub can create a website, but you can only have one of them per GitHub org, and the Estes Park Group has taken it.

Jamie: Add separate issue to follow up on this.

Jamie and Peter will handle the Widoco doc.

EBook:

  • Needs the final version of the ontology to be generated
  • Peter will start working on the text based on project board and develop branch.

Instead of generating post-release, could we give Peter the new ontology for him to generate the doc before the release? Might work if we can get a quick turnaround.
