It would be nice to see a list of the historic quakes. Will Yeck @wyeck-usgs wrote python code that accesses the ComCat APIs and generates a list of the info we use for response (example below). This list is useful for us because it lists all mags published by NEIC and includes NEIC's macro seismic comment. It also has hyperlinks back to the individual events. The draw back is that it is SLOW because it has to download a lot of info to parse out what is shown. We can share this code if interested.

Scott added distance from the mainshock and I just submitted pull request #13 to add the direction. Including the macro seismic comment would be nice for significant events. I will put the macro seismic comment on the list for possible inclusion in the future for significant earthquakes.

Something like this is available in PAGER [losspager.contents.json/historical_earthquakes.json]. It isn't clear how this feed determines what to provide. For an earthquake near Salinas, the feed includes the 1971 San Fernando and 1991 Sierra Madre earthquakes, but not the 2014 South Napa or 1989 Loma Prieta earthquakes.
