Home Assistant version 2025.01

SmartIR version 1.18

SmartIR configuration

  • platform: smartir
    name: Sunroom Ceiling Light
    unique_id: sunroom_ceiling_light
    device_code: 9997
    controller_data: remote.sunroom_broadlink_remote

Describe the bug

SmartIR Light control rocks! But I don't have a power sensor on my LED light, I have a zigbee wall switch that doesn't give me power-data although it does tell me if it is on/off with a switch.bedroom_light so I could rig a helper to give me a binary_sensor.bedroom_light hack...

BUT, it'd be much better if SmartIR was smart enough to see that it has main power switch control and to flip the switch, literally. Surely, I can't be the only one who has a binary zigbee power switch and then uses the IR to control the options like brightness and temperature?

Unfortunately it is the only supported method at the moment. Can I help more?
