slurm_pam_adopt is a SLURM feature that allows to limit compute node access via ssh to only users that have active jobs running on a given compute node. Moreover, any ssh session will be added to the existing SLURM job on that given node and hence also consume the allocated resources for this specific job/task.

This is a great feature to "shepherd" all those parallel computing frameworks that like to use ssh connections to compute nodes rather than relying on native SLURM commands.
