Cast to decimal

THis is my cast to decimal values in laravel-data, but i'm not sure if it's ok.

class DecimalCast implements Cast
{
    public function __construct(
        protected ?string $type = null,
        protected int $decimals = 2,
    ) {
    }

    public function cast(DataProperty $property, mixed $value): string
    {
        return number_format($value, $this->decimals, '.', '');
    }
}
