Comments
Updated, please see later post. Competition announcement as per srobo/volunteer-emails#67, copied below for flavour though please check the PR for any corrections. SR2024 Competition Venue & DateWe're pleased to announce the venue and date for the main competition of SR2024. The competition will take place over the weekend of 13th and 14th April 2024 at the University of Southampton. This two-day event represents the culmination of the teams' work over the past six months and is an exciting celebration of robot abilities. The event takes a small army of people to run, both in planning over the next five months and on the weekend itself. To get involved please join the #competition-team in Slack, or keep an eye out for the event sign-up form later in the year. -- SR Competition Committee |

Volunteer SocialThere's an online social open to all volunteers on the evening of Thursday 8th February from 7-10pm UK time. Feel free to come for as long or as little as you want, we'll be playing a mix of shorter & longer games as well as generally socialising. See the volunteer calendar for event details & joining link. |

Tech DaysLast weekend we had a very successful Tech Day in Horsham. We had four teams in attendance and all made lots of progress. Three had chassis which were well underway and capable of controlled movement. We saw one team experimenting with driving towards tokens. The final Tech Day of the year is in Cambridge on 2nd March. We have space for 6 teams and volunteers are most welcome. Please let us know if you plan to attend. |
ChallengesThis year saw the return of Challenges as a way for teams to earn league points throughout the year. Both deadlines have now passed and we were pleased to see that 15 teams got points with 10 achieving two challenges and 20 teams at least one. The next chance for teams to earn point is the Virtual Competition, on 9th March. |
