Same questions. This book seems to be incomplete as it was designed to include Java examples. It is not about not being able to learn Scala, but about the fact that organizations have approved platform and if that is only Java, then the lack of Java examples creates friction in reading and moving faster to decide to use Apache Flink or not. That is, is not something that you can do a quick POC and report your findings to a senior leadership team.
