Problem description

It seems that Samsung has marked Termux:API as a "phishing app".
A system service seems to be preventing the installation of the app.
See the screenshot below.

Screenshot_20250110_020920_Android System

Steps to reproduce

Use F-droid to download and install the package.

Expected behavior

The app must be installed.

Additional information

  • termux-api application version: n/a
  • termux-api package version (installed through apt): n/a
  • Android OS version: Android 14, One UI 6.1
  • Device model: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

In fact, Revanced Manager has also suffered the same problem before: ReVanced/revanced-manager#1244.

This is clearly Samsung's fault and I've already sent an email, so I guess nothing much can be done here.
This issue is opened just to track the status.

I appreciate if someone could help Termux:API off of the blacklist and send an email to [email protected] (the publisher of the "system service" mentioned above).

It has microphone permission, so likely false positive. Try installing apk with adb.

ADB is always the answer 😉

It seems with the latest update Termux:API is no longer marked as a "phishing app". If similar things happen in the future, the best course of action is to email [email protected] with the problematic APK file. Writing email in Korean seems to work the best, but they understand English just fine.

Closing.
