Testing in Brave (1.63), and when using the extension the Bookmarks Toolbar is not shown on the page if the setting [Show bookmarks bar > Only on the new tab page] is selected.

The Bookmarks toolbar does show when set to "always" - just not when configured for new tabs only

Tested in Firefox and it works fine as expected

I checked that the problem exists on Chrome as well
