USB to Serial cable labeled HL2303 works with Terminal emulation

On start, TabletMagic gives the Tablet as "GD-0912-R00 V1.2 (Intuos)". Checking "Setup" I find the Serial connection box grayed out and 9600, 8,1 with CTS checked

When I try "Testing" by selecting "Get Model & ROM Version" and clicking the "Send" button, nothing happens.

Then I click on the "Port:" box and select anything, the Tablet is shown as "No Tablet Found" but the "Datastream (V Binary) immediately shows "~#GD-0912-R00,V1.2-7"

Clicking on the "Port:" box again gets the same results including "Datastream (V Binary)" response.

So TableMagic appears to be communicating with the Intuos tablet initially but then blocks.

Version 2.0b19 has been released with a 64-bit preference pane and full support for Mountain Lion. Give it a try and see if it still has issues with your GD model. http://www.thinkyhead.com/tabletmagic/download

Version 2.0b20 includes some minor changes as well. I have received some other reports of TM being unable to figure out how to talk to GD-0912-R00, so possibly this is a lingering bug. The reports I've gotten make it sound like TM is trying to use the wrong protocol ("Wacom IV" instead of "Wacom V").
