Tranceiver and front panel both use an RJ12 6P6C jack and a straight connection cable.

Hint: RJ12 plugs do fit in RJ45 couplers -> Easy, non-destructive way to sniff the signal.
This is a normal UART. The data lines operate at 5V logic level.
The bitrate is 62 kBit/s, 8N2.
