Usage scenarios for winnow::binary::bits

I'm curious what you guys use it to parse, the only thing I can think of is network protocols, but I'm not sure if it needs to be parsed by bit, or just byte?

This is one I can't answer as I've not been parsing binary formats for many years and this was carried over from nom.
