sha512

sha512 returns the lowercase hex string presenration of the SHA-512 hash of the given input value.

Examples

(Hashes are truncated here for readability.)

  • (sha512 "") ➜ "cf83e1357eefb8bdf154…47417a81a538327af927da3e"
  • (sha512 "hello") ➜ "9b71d224bd62f3785d96…5c2e5c3adef46f73bcdec043"

Forms

(sha512 data:string) ➜ string

  • data is an arbitrary expression.

sha512 evaluates the given expression and coalesces the result to a string. If either of those steps fail, an error is returned. Otherwise the function will calculate the SHA-512 hash and return the hex presentation (a string of 128 characters).
