I have taken the time to fill in all the required details. I understand that the bug report will be dismissed otherwise.
This issue contains only one bug.
Affected version
25.82 Beta (and all earlier)
Device Type
Smart TV/Box
Affected Android
Android 7.0
Steps to reproduce the bug
Hello and many thanks for the amazing SmartTube!
Can't say if this is a ST "bug" or device limitation. Using a Formuler Z8 Media/IPTV device. It supports several video modes - I only essentially use the first two:
However, AFR only sees one mode. and thus it can't help:
Actual behavior
I can confirm that if the video mode is manually set to 1080p/50 in the device, then ST has no problems smoothly playing 25/50fps videos. It just cannot switch automatically because it thinks the device only supports "[email protected]".
The main player app the device uses for video playback (not talking about a YouTube app) does support its own AFR implementation, so it does switch between 50Hz/60Hz depending on content.
Not a huge problem of course, just an annoyance.
