I configured amanda to not use holding disk for a DLE while doing backup of a local directory that have a single database dump file (~1.3Tbytes), because when I use the holding disk, it do a lot of IO and I think that it should not be needed for a single big file.
However, when there is no tape (I forget it), amanda enters in degraded mode and the backup of this directory fails and in the next day when the flush run, that directory is skipped (because it is not in the holding disk).
One alternative to solve it could be backup that DLE just in degraded mode and then, in the next day, the flush could backup it.
Can I use the holding disk for a DLE just in degraded mode?
Thank you.
joel
