How to troubleshoot noisy nodes? #7021
-
So I'm experiencing the jamming issues with a 800 series controller I've tried 2 of them (Zooz [email protected] and Smartstick G8 @7.20). After a bunch if reading I've added a usb extension cable to keep the stick away from the ports and turned off all the timed based reporting I could find. That all greatly helped and got me to a usable state (thanks for that!). However, I noticed I have five nodes on my network that are more chatty than all the rest 2, 3, 16, 23, and 42 and they seem to typically be setting the same value over and over again. The thing that bugs me is that for nodes 16, 23, and 42 I have other nodes which are the same make/model of device and they are NOT noisy. I've tried re-interviewing them, and rebuilding routes. I've also reviewed their configuration parameters and disabled anything that I don't use, but they are still noisy. I'm not sure where to go from here, if I just have to live with this or is there something else I can do to quiet them down. |

So I think I got this fixed - I've made it at least made 15+ minutes without one of them updating to the same value. What I did was I excluded 2 of the nodes (a Zooz Zen32 scene controller and a Enbrighten/Jasco 700 series switches) and then included them again. I had re-interviewed them multiple times before that with no effect. I've also noticed a I don't see any of the "Dropping message with invalid payload" messages in the log anymore. I'm kinda pumped. |
