key bindings questions: how to insert (macro|date|commad line output) , How to close a tab, etc.

Hi,

1. Is it possible to execute a shell command, and insert its output to the current cursor?
   (feature request: when a text is selected, it can serve as the input for that command --> thus turning the command into a filter: syntax format, pretty print, shuffle lines, etc).

2. There's no To-Lowercase or To-Uppercase among the possible keybinding commands. Am I missing it?

3. in the keybindings, there's a insert tab command , but no remove or close tab.
   how to close a tab?

4. Minor: json format does not allow comments and. some modern json derivatives allow it (json5, etc).

1. That's exactly what the textfilter command does.
2. There is nothing built-in, I tend to use textfilter tr a-z A-Z (ASCII only) or textfilter awk '$0=toupper($0)' for this.
3. Quit (Ctrl-q) closes the current tab.
