crkbd (corn keyboard) cherry v3 build

Based off foostan's V3 Corne
Using foostan's and rafaeldelboni's build guides

Building and ordering the PCB

Convert archived V3 KiCad project files to Gerber files
JLCPCB - How to generate Gerber and Drill files in KiCAD 8

Order the PCB from JLCPCB
GERBER Files

Solder Diodes

Solder each diode onto the pcb making sure to use flux and match polarity of the diode to the PCB.

Solder Hot Swaps

Solder each hot swap socket onto the pcb making sure to use flux and provide enough solder to hold the socket in place during switch installation / removal.

Install Top Components

Install the controller / OLED bases, reset button, trrs jack, controller, and oled.

For the controller use the gold pins and for the OLED use 0.5mm copper wire

Compile and Flash Firmware

QMK Configurator

Select keyoard, change layout if desired, and download firmware.

QMK Toolbox

Download software (windows or mac), hit reset button, flash.

Unplug, plug in other half, hit reset button, flash.

Done!

Warning

This was my first time soldering so definitely do a better job then I did or you will run into some issues. I had a short across my keyboard due to these two pins being soldered together.

Additionally, my first PCB was not working properly unfortunately and after thorough testing I had to remake the right half.
