Welcome to the Custom Car Manager wiki! Here you can find everything you need to know about using Custom Car Manager.
Note that throughout this wiki Custom Car Manager is frequently referred to as CCM.

Installation

Once you download the .zip file from Nexus Mods, unzip it and retrieve the executable inside. This executable is the program.
Custom Car Manager doesn't need any installation as everything needed is bundled into the executable.
The one thing that does need to be installed for it to function is Java 17 or newer. That can be downloaded here.

Setup

  1. To run CCM, simply double-click the executable.

  2. When you run CCM for the first time, you will get a message telling you to set your Derail Valley installation directory.

  3. To set your Derail Valley installation directory, click the "Select Installation Directory" button.

The directory that opens in File Explorer is your Derail Valley installation directory.
You can copy this directory to your clipboard by right-clicking the "Derail Valley" in the menu bar, and clicking "Copy address".

This address can be pasted in the same spot later on.
  4. Once your installation directory is set, you should see any cars you currently have installed in the "Installed Cars" section.

Installing Cars

Cars can be installed in a few different formats.

  • .zip files
  • .rar files
  • Folders

All of these methods support installing multiple nested cars.
So say you download a zip file with 2 cars in it, you only need to give CCM the zip file and both cars will be installed.

All formats support being installed by drag-and-dropping the file into the "Installed Cars" window.

You can also click the "Install Car(s) from Folder" or "Install Car(s) from Archive" buttons to open a new File Explorer window to select the car(s) to install.

Updating cars

Cars can be updated by simply installing them again. CCM will automatically find the old version, remove it, and install the new one.

Deleting cars

Cars can be deleted by pressing the "Delete" button next to them.

You will get a confirmation box ensuring you want to delete the car before it's deleted.

Deleted cars will be moved to your recycle bin so they can be recovered if need be.
