Existing tools and libraries

  • YouTube Data Tools - "a collection of simple tools for extracting data from the YouTube platform via the YouTube API"
  • youtube-dl - "command-line program to download videos from YouTube.com and a few more sites"
  • videogrep (docs for new version here) - "command line tool that searches through dialog in video files (using .srt or .vtt subtitle tracks, or pocketsphinx transcriptions) and makes supercuts based on what it finds"
