Connectivity for spatial_neighbors on cell_bin data

data.tl.spatial_neighbors is suggested on the "Quick Start (Cell Bin)" to compute a spatial neighbors graph. However, how is the distance and neigobor connectivity calculated for cell bin, since it is not as apparent as square bin. And whether using spatial_neighbors on cell bin data is reliable.
