Martin has experience in mobile application development

Has no OpenShift experience

Wants to make use of one of the Mobile Services (Push, Sync, etc)

Martin works in mobile application development. He has noticed that AeroGear offers Mobile Services. He is interested in seeing what one of these Mobile Services has to offer and how easy it is to integrate into one of his existing mobile applications.

Step Goals and Actions Feelings ( 1-5) Notes
Starting point Needs to connect the mobile application to the company's business logic, enabling notifications for incoming tickets to the people in the field. Frustration: 1=:( 5=:) Frustrated that he has to learn so much about the whole backend infrastructure (and currently about OpenShift too, until the AeroGear Service Catalog is available in the hosted openshift service)
Initial search Steve goes to google for "openshift mobile application" and finds AeroGear 3 SEO Notes
First visit and evaluation Steve visits the website and reads through the content 3 "Is this doing what I need?"
Decision Steve decides AeroGear is up to the job, and wants to use it to connect the business' notifications to his mobile app. Steve proceeds to follow the Push quickstart guide. 4 Everything in the backend is new, and right now it involves even more learning, because you need to also install OpenShift yourself, as the service catalog is not yet available on hosted openshift.
Install Backend 5
Install AeroGear Mobile SDK Steve already has his mobile toolchain set up for both Android and iOS, needs to install the AeroGear libraries 2 "I already have my IOS and Android toolchains set up from earlier mobile app projects. Is the AeroGear SDK able to use the existing SDK's I already have? If I later want to use something else, will it uninstall cleanly?
Step X 1
End Result Steve has built a mobile app that connects to his OpenShift backend. He still needs to use the AeroGear Service API to hook his business data to it. 5
