Welcome to the SharePoint wiki!
At some point, I should organize this better. For now, I'm just transferring over the notes that were on my SharePoint homepage.
The Hero web part with the links at the top of the page isn't a bad start. It's pretty visually appealing and it is certainly useful. What else might you want to see on your homepage?
- Link to my status dashboard and goals
- Add personal mission statement and values.
- Quick links (e.g., student affairs) with narrative.
- Doesn't seem like we can mix narrative and links unless it's with hyperlinking text. Not buttons though.
- Quick access to documents. I'm not 100% sure what I meant by this and what I wanted it to look like. Maybe start with advising documents? In fact, I want to create an entirely separate page for advising.
- Project dashboards and budgets
- Quick access to instructions and SOPs
- Personnel directory
For all of these reasons, I'm thinking about using Word documents instead of OneNote notes for SOPs, meeting minutes, etc. I can access them all from the documents section of my homepage. However, I need to also sync them with OneDrive so that they are available offline.
Where do the random documents that show up in my SPH Cannell Documents folder (outside of the General folder) come from? I think it has something to do with email attachments, but I haven't quite figured it out yet.
