Hi there 👋, my name is Hairan

I love using data to create models that make our lives better, or even just more fun.

I'm a Master's student at Columbia University studying Computer Science, with an emphasis in Machine Learning. I did my undergrad at UCLA, where I got to explore data science and machine learning through my involvement in the Buonomano Lab, Chiang Lab, and Data Science Union (DSU).

Some of my fellow DSU members and I are pictured below, correctly labeled with bounding boxes and the model's confidence in its prediction. We created this object detection model during a project I led as part of the club. Feel free to check out the code and documentation for all my personal projects and research experience. I'm still working on productionifying things.
