Insight and Culture

This is the github repository for the following paper: Solving the puzzle: insight drives the cultural success of riddles and whodunits by Marius Mercier, Alexis Garsmeur and Hugo Mercier.

Introduction

This github repository aims to be computationaly reproducible (in one click). Data and analysis code are provided. Materials are open (stimuli used and survey files). Pre-registrations are available on the osf project: https://osf.io/7qwt2/

Prerequisites

• R version 4.2.2 (2022-10-31 ucrt)
• RStudio 2023.09.1
• Used libraries are listed in the manuscript and in the code

Cloning the Repository

To clone the repository to your local machine, follow these steps:

1. Open your terminal (or Command Prompt / PowerShell in Windows).
2. Navigate to the directory where you want to clone the repository.
3. Run the following command: git clone https://github.com/mariusmercier/paper_insight_culture.git

Alternative: Download the zip folder of the repository.

Running the Analysis

Simply open and run "All_Analysis.Rmd" on Rstudio, the working dictory should be paper_insight_culture.
