Feature spotlight
This release is presented with three flagship changes:-
Interface feature: leaders now display their personality & background all at once, together with a stat summary with highlights. This does not change the distribution of general traits, meaning that finding a pretty good (or pretty bad) general is as unlikely as before.
-
Ported HPM feature: improved dismantlement system.
-
Bug fixes: the four most infamous decisions responsible for bringing down the performance of the game have been corrected. These are:
- Italia Irredenta
- AI: Call Allies to War (when AI United Kingdom calls its puppets into a war)
- Occupation of the Congo Basin
- Establish the Karafuto Prefecture
You can learn more about these changes and the many other bug fixes either:
- chronologically with the flagship changes highlighted in the Release History
- topically or geographically in the Breakdown of Changes by Game Feature
Quick installation instructions
Extract the ccHFM
folder and the ccHFM.mod
file from the provided archive, and place them in your favourite mod
folder. Both the folder and file must end up side-by-side.
If you see more than just these two items, you either went too deep into the archive or downloaded the source code—try the download link above.
This is a standalone mod, you do not need to install anything else. Due to the amount of changes ccHFM is unlikely to be compatible with other HPM- or HFM-specific submods outside of the cosmetic.
Preserving your HFM settings
HFM users: you can preserve your settings and message settings by copying their associated files into a new ccHFM
user file folder. Alternatively you can duplicate & rename your HFM
user file folder, BUT note that save games are not compatible. Incompatible saves can crash the game even just at the campaign screen, so you are best served by not copying them over to your ccHFM user files.
On Windows the user files are typically located at:
%userprofile%\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria II
(you can directly copy this path into the Explorer location bar)
