Clean installation for me as well did not throw up an error, yet I still have
[tool.pdm]
package-type = "application"
Funny thing is I also get the error
WARNING: The following problems are found in your project:
package-type: package-type = "application" has been renamed to distribution = false under [tool.pdm] table
Running pdm fix removes the package-type designation all together, which may be breaking it
