Conversation
Personally I think many of the tator words already stick out like a sore thumb, and I don't see tators cooperate often. Don't need to make it even harder for them. |
yea but i think it's kinda fuckin based to be spouting the language of the devil (Syndicate chaplain gimmick?) and it's not the severity of old security toys back in the day when the detective and the head of security used to get thermal goggles |
It doesn't make much sense to use code words that your enemy has written down in a book, and the detective seeing all code words by default seems pretty egregious due to their call/response nature. It just instantly outs people for 0 effort. As BoraHive said it's not like the code words are terribly subtle a lot of the time anyways. If anyone ever says "Vodka Martini" over comms they're absolutely a traitor. |
^ truth in life, Washington D.C. has notoriously had espionage problems because the FBI has austistically mapped out every possible dead drop location in the city for the past 100 years to the point that nobody can use any today - because there aren't any lol |
Rather than in the HoS office, a trader item makes more sense to me. There's more reasoning behind how they could obtain it, and the delay before any sec could possibly get their hands on it means tators have a safe period they know they can use them, and the overall chance of sec having one even after a trader docks is low. |
will rework with feedback someday |
[tweak]
What this does
specifically, the ones sec use. it does not reveal the current words in the round.
also adds functionality to detective headsets to highlight these possible words in red when heard. note that traitors who have them memorised override this feature and only hear their own.
Why it's good
keeps sec in the know about the concept of this stuff without giving anything away (codediving has the same effect anyways)
How it was tested
opening the book, using a detective headset and saying the phrases.
