The production of a healthy meal requires multi-disciplinary teamwork. Important contributors should include nutritionists, chefs, data analysts, algorithm engineers, and so on. The large amount of nutrition data, heavy computation and the demand for fast iteration of product design require a collaboration tool to facilitate information being freely passed up and down across the development chain. As I have often stated, healthy meal design is like building design, thus it is possible that BIM (building information modelling) could shed some light on the software design.
Design and produce a prototype of the intended software. To do so requires:
- A written version of the framework of the software, clear design philosophy and principle.
- A detailed planning of required functions and how they communication to give better results.
- A final prototype fulfilling the intended functionality, visually not repulsive.
