Glossary ‐ A Special Feature
A new Glossary feature is now available in Chitralekha. While doing Translation tasks, in cases where the user would like a certain word to be translated/transliterated in a specific way, for example, the English word _'Python' _to remain as 'Python' and not be translated to the target local language, the user may add this required correction in the glossary to be applied across tasks in a particular language for the speicific user. It will also be possible for the user to view their list of glossary.
- Click on the account name visible on the top right of the screen.
- And go to My Glossary
- Click on Add New Glossary
- Select the Source Language and the Target Language
- Enter the Source Text (without a space after the end of the word(s)) and the Target Text. And click on Add.
- Selecting the word in the target language box
- Right clicking on the selected word
- Entering the Target Text. Clicking on Add.
This way, the same word appearing in any translation task that will be created there after for the user with the same target language, will be replaced by the new Target Text. Please note that word corrections via glossary can be made in the task this way only if the specific task was originally assigned to this particular user.
The newly added word will now be visible in the user's My Glossary page as well. Please also note that capitals do not matter. Chitralekha will present the word in the most appropriate manner.
The newly added glossary will be used to automatically replace words in newly created Translation Edit tasks. Please note that the glossary additions will only be reflected in tasks created after the correction has been made in the glossary and not to the existing tasks.
It is possible for the Organisation Owners to upload a whole new list of glossary in bulk. This list needs to be done in a csv format.
- Prepare a csv file with all the words in target language and source language along with the user's email ID (the user for which the correction should be applied).
- Click on the account name on the top right of the Chitralekha page after logging in.
- Select My Glossary
- And click on Upload Glossary
As the glossary that the Org Owner uploads will be user specific the newly added words will only be visibile in the specified user's My Glossary page and not for the Org Owner.
