Beginners Guide Tutorial
Once a user has registered themselves, proceeding to the main game screen will be interrupted by a pop-up tutorial, this will be for users who lack experience with card based games/games in general and will assist in familiarizing users with the function of the UI interface as well as basic commands. An action to skip this tutorial will be available once this tutorial is entered. This tutorial will only be available to newly registered users as if this isn't the case, would cause redundancy as well as annoyance to current users who want to proceed straight to the game .
After a user has concluded registration of a new account, as oppose to concept 1, the user will be redirected back to the main menu screen. Here they will see amongst all the generic buttons for "new game","high scores" etc, there will be a button named "Tutorial Mode". Once clicked this will give the user an option of an entry based tutorial or advanced based tutorial, the entry based tutorial will take the user to a tutorial screen which will run the user through the framework of the game as well as the general rules to play.Advanced based tutorial will touch on card strategies and combo's etc. Further updates of the games (new features will be added into the tutorial mode) As per concept 1, there will also be an option to skip/exit the tutorial at any time as well.
Through thorough analysis of feedback given on both concepts, a finalized concept was chosen. Ultimately this consisted of elements from both of the potential concepts as many users were skewed towards different elements from each concept. As a result, we decided to incorporate the most favored elements from each concept into one. The final tutorial concept will offer users to skip the tutorial any given time, allow users to return to the tutorial from the menu screen as well as have an immediate redirect to the tutorial following user registration. As there were mixed views towards the content of the tutorial itself and its complexity, it was decided the tutorial will showcase the basic understanding of the match screen as well as other beginner attributes associated with the game. This was to allow users to discover and expand their experience and knowledge through prolonged game-play opposed to having a tutorial which restricted them from the adventure of the game and its strategies.
